Dear continuing and commencing students,

It is with great pleasure that I am able to welcome you all to a new and exciting year with the

Adelaide University Dental Students’ Society (AUDSS). With several months of planning already

invested in our calendar there is a lot to look forward to with all new membership packs as well

as Fresher’s BBQ, Fresher’s Basement Party and Dental Camp all rolling up within the next month.

I encourage everyone to make the most of these events; they are all heavily subsidised by our

sponsors and offer the perfect opportunity to relax and socialise outside of the academic week.

To the freshers especially: don’t miss out on these events – the AUDSS has made the barbeque

and first basement party completely free and your first Dental camp will likely provide some of

your most memorable experiences at Dent school! Furthermore these events allow you to

network with people in older years -we’re all looking forward to meeting you and have plenty of

knowledge, notes and advice to help you get through.

Other projects in the works include a revamped academic and professional development program,

an online payment system, new sporting events, investments in the basement, revised

partnerships agreements and opportunities to be involved in a new dental service for Adelaide’s

homeless shelters. Stay tuned for more information!

The AUDSS is really as good as its member base. I’d like to encourage everyone to get involved;

come to the events, attend the lectures, enjoy the common room and make use of the café. Also

if you’d like to help out, make a submission for an AUDSS publication or have a suggestion on how

we can improve the society then we’d very much like to hear from you – feel free to talk to

anyone on the committee, we’re all ears.
